Our Thoughts

Retirement is a word I hear often, as in “So when DO you plan to retire?” My response varies depending on the time of day and the fullness of the moon. My peers, friends and relatives are enjoying retirement. It’s a logical question. January 2014 was my 25th anniversary in healthcare search. Realizing that caused some serious reflection. What is it about this crazy business that keeps me so engaged and staves off any thoughts of truly retiring?

How many times have you looked at a resume, noticed the candidate had a short tenure at his or her last three positions – then tossed it right in the trash - right?

My teenage son had a realization regarding his short life recently; he said, “I only learn the hard way, Mom.” This is after a couple of “lessons learned”-- totaling his Toyota Corolla and racking up $170 in overdraft fees on his bank account. As managers, sometimes we learn the hard way.

I have been tasked with writing my company’s first blog, which I found to be a little daunting as my blogging experience has been limited to chronicling the adoption of my two sweet children.
